Common Ledger’s MYOB Desktop Connector is a piece of software which a user installs on their desktop or server, downloadable from the Common Ledger app. Its purpose is to connect desktop-based MYOB AccountRight files to Common Ledger, allowing the data to be available in-app and downloadable into various general ledger software types. The desktop connector can provide data as frequently as hourly if connected to an MYOB file in live use.

Ways to use Connector

There are two ways you can use Common Ledger’s desktop connector. Each of these favours a different type of financial service. You can either:

  • Install the connector on your own system and connect backup files sent to you by your clients. This method is favoured by accountants completing compliance work where there is no need for ongoing live data.

  • Install the connector on your client’s system and set it up to sync live data through to Common Ledger every hour. This method is favoured by accountants who wish to complete ongoing advisory work for clients who use desktop-based MYOB software.

Common Ledger’s desktop connector is compatible with:

MYOB AccountRight version 17
MYOB AccountRight version 18
MYOB AccountRight version 19
MYOB AccountRight version 19.13
MYOB AccountRight version 2014
MYOB AccountRight version 2015
MYOB AccountRight version 2016 and 2016.3

The desktop connector is also compatible with the Server Edition iterations of the above versions (SE).
